Mads Pedersen holds a commanding green jersey lead, Juan Ayuso just took over white from Isaac del Toro, and the polka dot jersey belongs on paper to Tadej Pogačar — who can’t wear it because he’s already in yellow. Green jersey: Pedersen’s lead grows on Bastille Day

Mads Pedersen collected the full 25 points on offer at Stage 10’s intermediate sprint, stretching his advantage over Biniam Girmay to 54 points. It’s a lead built on consistency rather than stage wins, Pedersen hasn’t won a stage yet this Tour, but he’s been inside the top points on nearly every day that’s offered them.

Tim Merlier sits third, and a bunch sprint finish in Nevers on Stage 11 is exactly the kind of day that could close his gap fast. A sprint win typically pays 50 points to the winner, enough to leapfrog Girmay in a single stage if Merlier delivers his third straight victory. White jersey: Ayuso takes over from del Toro

The best young rider competition changed hands on Stage 10. Isaac del Toro had held it since early in the race, but cracked on the penultimate climb to Le Lioran and shipped nearly a minute to the group ahead. Juan Ayuso, who finished the stage strongly, now leads by 13 seconds over Paul Seixas, with del Toro dropping to third, 46 seconds back.

It’s a jersey worth watching closely. All three riders are also fighting inside the top seven overall on general classification, meaning the white jersey battle and the podium scramble for the final GC step are, for now, the same fight wearing two different names.

Polka dot jersey: Pogačar leads it, Vingegaard wears it

Race rules only allow one jersey per rider, whichever classification ranks highest. Pogačar leads the King of the Mountains standings outright with 42 points to Jonas Vingegaard’s 27, but since he’s already wearing yellow as the overall leader, the polka dot jersey passes down the standings to Vingegaard, who wears it on the road instead.

The bigger mover is further down: Richard Carapaz jumped 33 places into third after his breakaway effort on Stage 10, climbing to 19 points and putting himself in genuine contention for a jersey that, unlike green or white, can still change hands through a single strong day in the mountains still to come.

Race rules only allow a rider to wear one jersey — the highest-ranked classification they lead. Since Pogačar already wears yellow as the overall leader, the polka dot jersey passes to Jonas Vingegaard, the next-highest-ranked climber in the standings.
